Common courtesy
Shaz and Richard were discussing on common courtesy the other day. Something that malaysians certainly lack of. Cutting queues, staring at others, not saying thank you, rude rude ppl,.. the list just goes on.- No 'thank you' when u hold the elevator for them.
- Rude customer service ppl. Think sales asst at cosmetic counters and so-called slightly higher end shops, etc. But they'll be super duper nice to mat sallehs. If possible they would want to kiss the ground these ppl walk on. Also customer cervice ppl at banks, gov offices... i rather not elaborate on that.
- Some just love cutting queues and will buat bodoh when we confront them or even just look at them.
- You open and hold that heavy door to pass through.. and ppl from nowhere will just walk pass and expect you to hold the door forever and ever, without saying thank you or even looking at you. Guys and girls alike - such gentlemen we have here.
- Then there are those banging into you while walking and wouldn't look back, what more apologise.
- And when crossing at a zebra crossing, drivers would actually go faster or honk at you for crossing at the proper place.
- Also ppl staring at you cos you're such a celebrity (topic already covered in one of the previous posts)
- Cashiers and those dealing with $, when returning your change, would just put / throw the money on the counter / table.
I personally feel we're so full of rude ppl. Is it the education system or the way they were brought up?
I'm sure there are infinity-load of other examples. These are what i could think of at this moment. Oh, and i haven't even started on rude road users. Let's just save it for another blog post.
*if you're not anything like what described above then good for u. we certainly could do with more ppl like you!
