Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

on Friendship

Friends...
from near or far, all shapes and sizes, will come and go

Friends...
some true and blue, others plain pretentious
some so selfless, others selfishly behave

Friends...
few give without expectations
the rest just take take and take (such parasites)
most will laugh with u (perhaps at u too)

but few willingly cry with u

Well, true friendship rare and precious
Whoever found one indeed been blessed with a priceless treasure

Wat i wanna be...

These are my childhood dreams of what i wanna be when i grew up. Another way of putting it (now that i'm all grown up) is "what i would most likely be doing if i'm not doing what i'm currently doing now" (tat's a mouthful)...

a fashion designer
It all began when i decided to design and sew my Barbies' clothes, and it ended there too. Did form6 and design college like La Salle was out of the question - expensive larr. Despite that, my good fashion sense did not and will not go to waste... ehem.. ehem! hehe..

a vet
The requirement to take up the course is lower than that of medical studies (although the former has more to study ie the anatomy and everything else of various animals VS humans only?). Then one day i realised that loving animals and actually treating them are two different things altogether (imagine a slimy sick python - yucks). Now, I'm just as contented playing doctor to Pepper ;p

a journalist / writer
Used to read loads of novels in school (if only i have the time now..). The local papers were generous enough to publish some of my 'creative work' at that time. But I was a little sour that our school wasn't chosen to participate in BRATS. Anyway about a year after uni, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to write freelance for a local health mag (wat more could a girl ask for). Well, this is the closest dream i ever came to realise (and the one that i'm still dreaming of). But for now i'll just settle for updates in my blog. hehe... And who knows, i might be this famous writer one day! yea rite!
Dream on.....

Quotable Quotes

Quotable quotes by some famous people...

"If you want to make enemies, try to change something."- Woodrow Wilson
I would have to agree cos most ppl cannot or are just not willing to accept changes, or are simply biased towards those that are different (by their silly standards)

"If you copy from one author it's plagiarism. If you copy from two it's research."- Wilson Mizner
Hehehe... this is a good one

"It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages."- Friedrich Nietzsche
I'm in an 8yr+ relationship with my darling and I can't help but agree with this one (sulky moments aside tho...). He's my best buddy and soulmate (huggies to u dear!)

A Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme

Monday's Child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child has to work for its living,
But a child that's born on the Sabbath Day,
Is fair and wise and good and gay.

Autograph anyone?

My darling and i walked into a makan shop and were greeted with gawks and stares from those already eating there. Well, nothing new.

No we're not aliens (perhaps to some we are) or celebrities, we're just one of those interacial couples.

Looking is ok but to stare, now that is just plain rude.

Some parents will gape and their kids will follow suit. Talking about leading by example. And as the malay saying goes 'bagaimana acuan begitulah kuihnya' scenario.

And when we look back, some will actually contest us for a staring match, and they'll give us the look that tells 'it's not wrong for me to stare at u cos u've done a BIG BIG mistake in ur life / u are so weird and it's right to stare at weird ppl'. If only looks could kill.

What i would really love to do to these clowns:
~ knock their heads together / against any hard objects
~ give them a nice punch in the face
~ asking them if their parents / teachers / whoever forgot to teach them that it is not polite to stare

But what i most likely would consider doing:
~ wave
~ say hello / do we know u?

Who knows they might be thrilled for an autograph.

Good People

Jack Johnson's Good People - currently using as my default ringtone :)

You win it’s your show now
So what’s it going to be?
Because people will tune in
How many train wrecks do we need to see?
Before we lose touch
And we thought this was low
Well it’s bad, getting worse….

*Where’d all the good people go?
I’ve been changing channels and I don’t see them on the tv shows
Where’d all the good people go?
We’ve got heaps and heaps of what we sow

They got this and that with a rattle a tat
Testing, one, two, man whatcha gonna do
Bad news misused, got too much to lose
Give me some truth now, who’s side are we on
Whatever you say
Turn on the boob tube, I’m in the mood to obey
So lead me astray
And by the way now…

repeat*

Sitting around feeling far away
So far away but I can feel the debris, can you feel it?
You interrupt me from a friendly conversation
To tell me how great it’s all going to be
You might notice some hesitation
Because its important to you, it’s not important to me

But way down by the edge of your reason
It’s beginning to show and I really want to know is…

repeat*

They got this and that with a rattle a tat
Testing one, two man whatcha gonna do
Bad news misused give me some truth
You got too much to lose
Whose side are we on today, anyway
Okay, whatever you say
Wrong and resolute but in the mood to obey
Station to station desensitizing the nation
Going, going, gone

My 'movie' resolution

Looking forward to these movies...

~ tim burton's the corpse bride (sooooooo cute)

~ the exorcism of emily rose (since this is based on a true story, hope it'll be real scary)

~ harry potter and the goblet of fire (the trailer leads me to conclude that this will be the best HP installment yet)

~ aeon flux (a dark-haired charlize theron as a sexy fighting chick)

~ chronicles of narnia (must make space on the shelf for the books)

~ the brothers grimm (extra bonus - who can resist matt damon and heath ledger, both in one movie?!)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these will reach gsc mcca.

it's a GOAL!

Watched GOAL! yst with my darling. No, he didn't drag me there. In fact i suggested catching it last nite. It was either that or Transporter 2. Wanted something different so opted for the former (and good thing we did).

GOAL! is indeed a beautiful movie. It tells the life of Santi, on the ups and downs in chasing his passion for football - how he started from kicking ball with the neighbourhood kids to playing with Newcastle Utd. Heard that it's a trilogy and next will see him going to Real Madrid and finally playing for the States.

Those who cannot comprehend the the logic of 22 guys chasing after one ball... no fear, i guarantee u will still enjoy GOAL! as much as those who can appreciate the game.

I know i did... of course not to mention the cute lead (looks a bit like John 'the gardener' in desperate housewives)...

I'm back..!

Haven't been blogging for almost a month.

Been feeling very drained lately - too caught up in work, really!

And also busy looking for my muse ;p
