The final six

Chris was superb this week. He sang with emotion. Could really feel that he was singing to his wife. Btw, he sang 'when a man loves a woman' ;p
Most were good except Kellie?.. Wonder wat's going on with her. Wrong song choice? I tot Katharine did great too but the judges apparently did not share the same sentiment.
Wonder who will be out this time. Hard to guess.. all six are just wonderful.

www.colinandkero.blogspot.com

Stumbled upon a rather interesting blog just now. Err, actually Sexy Siren introduced to me hehe.. thanks girl!
I actually read every single postings. Now that's new to me, more so for a blog belonging to a total stranger. But of course it helps that this blog was created only this mth. And for a blog that has been in existence for less than a mth, it has a profile view of 5766!!!! Wow!!!
Personally i don't agree to them but hey it's their life so they can jolly well do what they want with it. Not gonna lecture them or anything unlike some of their blog visitors. Even if i chose to chastise it would not make a difference simply because we are merely strangers to one another! So butt off lar (also in reference to other busybodys that love to comment on my inability to master my so-called mother tongue and also of course for going out with somebody of a different race!).
So do drop by their page to see what the fuss is all about! Well, i'm just sitting back here and enjoying the read ;p

Fun in the sun... Pepper style

It's been quite sometime since Pepper last graced rosietheposie! So here she is again!

Ahh... such warm warm sun on my cute cute face

What'cha looking at?!

Phew,.. finally!

This week's AmI was simply the best - all but Kellie performed well, even Ace. It was the era of the great American classics, a lil bit of jazz... cool!

Chris opened the show displaying a mellow side of him. Enjoyed him so much more than his usual alternative-rock stuff.

Then there was Paris. Simply awesome, wonderful powerful voice.. like what Simon said she speaks like minnie mouse but when she sings... wow.. different voice altogether! Wonder how she does that.

Taylor was ok but he shines towards the end of his song.

Ms Pickler didn't do too well. She did an Ella Fitzgerald - Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered. Of course she has a great voice and all but.. she knew she 'butchered the song'.

I tot Ace did rather well. With his 'new look' i tot he would not have left (assuming he had garnered some new fans). But alas, we have some wise voters after all!

Elliott was simply excellent. He was so cool and laidback and made it all seemed effortless.

But the best has got to be Katharine. Awesome. Such beautiful voice. Simon said she made the rest look like amateurs!

I would love to see Paris, Elliott and Katharine record a jazz album. And as the final three too :D

Oh, i definitely look forward to next week. Wonderful theme - classic love songs and the great Andrea Bocelli would be coaching them... the final six!

Common courtesy

Shaz and Richard were discussing on common courtesy the other day. Something that malaysians certainly lack of. Cutting queues, staring at others, not saying thank you, rude rude ppl,.. the list just goes on.

- No 'thank you' when u hold the elevator for them.

- Rude customer service ppl. Think sales asst at cosmetic counters and so-called slightly higher end shops, etc. But they'll be super duper nice to mat sallehs. If possible they would want to kiss the ground these ppl walk on. Also customer cervice ppl at banks, gov offices... i rather not elaborate on that.

- Some just love cutting queues and will buat bodoh when we confront them or even just look at them.

- You open and hold that heavy door to pass through.. and ppl from nowhere will just walk pass and expect you to hold the door forever and ever, without saying thank you or even looking at you. Guys and girls alike - such gentlemen we have here.

- Then there are those banging into you while walking and wouldn't look back, what more apologise.

- And when crossing at a zebra crossing, drivers would actually go faster or honk at you for crossing at the proper place.

- Also ppl staring at you cos you're such a celebrity (topic already covered in one of the previous posts)

- Cashiers and those dealing with $, when returning your change, would just put / throw the money on the counter / table.

I personally feel we're so full of rude ppl. Is it the education system or the way they were brought up?

I'm sure there are infinity-load of other examples. These are what i could think of at this moment. Oh, and i haven't even started on rude road users. Let's just save it for another blog post.

*if you're not anything like what described above then good for u. we certainly could do with more ppl like you!

Bucky's out

Bucky's gone. But the big question is, "when is Ace leaving"? He seems to be staying week in week out. He's simply not budging. I tot Bucky performed better than Ace. Must be all the teenage girls' votes!

My top three for this week's show... Elliott, Katharine and Kellie. Seriously i'm bored to pieces with Chris, although he does have a powerful vocal. Taylor gets the votes because he's just so likeable.. well, he's still one of my favs. Paris,... like what Simon said - "weird"!

I just hope Ace will be gone next week...

Gubra - a gem to the local movie scene

Some movies you just got to watch over and over and over again. Gubra is one such movie, and Sepet too.

The movie takes off where Sepet left and continued on with the life of Orked. It also touches on a different aspect of life as potrayed by a bilal and his wife and their prostitute neighbours.

Gubra, as controversial as it's predecessor (or even more), to my pleasant surprise did not suffer from the sensorship's snip. I guess after the huge success of Sepet, Yasmin Ahmad is 'untouchable'!??!

Gubra deals with our local everyday issues. Issues that we can feel at home with. Issues that are not dealt as openly as others. Certain scenes might even cause uproar from certain parties.

I wouldn't say Gubra's a Malay-language movie, or English. It is a proud make by a Malaysian for Malaysians, with conversations in Malay, English, Cantonese, Peranakan-Malay,... truly Malaysian.

If there's one movie that you just got to watch, do make it Gubra. But please do yourself a favour and catch Sepet first (if you haven't already watch it).

And now pls excuse me while i hunt for my dual dvd set of Sepet and Gubra for my collection.
